Keen Connect

UX Design // Information Architecture // 2025

In short

At Keen Design, I designed Keen Connect: a solution that provides employees with centralized, accessible, and up-to-date HR information. The project focused on strengthening the connection between employees and the organization, with special emphasis on those working remotely or on secondment.

My role encompassed the entire UX process, from research, co-design sessions, and concept development to prototyping, testing, and delivering a high-fidelity design.

The problem

The Keen Guide, a Word document containing HR information, was outdated, cluttered, and difficult to search. This caused frustration, information loss, and weak connection to the company, especially among seconded employees.

My challenge: How can Keen Design provide employees with clear and organized access to up-to-date HR-related information, thereby strengthening their connection to the organization?

My role

During this project, I took on a broad UX role, responsible for both research and design. I conducted user interviews, created journey maps and user needs, and translated these insights into clear concepts and information architectures. Additionally, I designed the entire platform in Figma, facilitated co-design sessions and usability tests, and developed the guiding principles and implementation advice. This ensured that the design was not only user-friendly but also aligned with Keen Design’s strategic goals.

Research & Concept Development

The project began with a thorough orientation phase, during which I conducted interviews, created journey maps, and analyzed the existing Keen Guide. This provided insights into the pain points experienced by (especially seconded) employees regarding HR information.

Based on these insights, I developed three concepts, Keen Central, Keeny (AI), and Keen Journey, which I validated through peer reviews, a survey, and matrix analyses. Ultimately, this led to the selection of one concrete concept: Keen Connect, which was developed into a mid-fidelity prototype and tested through co-design sessions.

Testing, Developing & Finalizing

During the detailing phase, I tested Keen Connect in knowledge sessions with employees and UX experts. These sessions provided valuable input to further optimize navigation, user flows, and the feedback mechanism.

The project concluded with a polished hi-fi prototype in Figma, supported by design documentation, personas, and detailed user flows. This resulted in a realistic and scalable solution that fully meets the needs of the target audience and fits seamlessly within Keen Design’s ecosystem.

Solution

Keen Connect is a digital platform that provides Keen Design employees with centralized, accessible, and up-to-date HR information. Through personalized tiles and the AI assistant Keeny, they can quickly find what they need, while a built-in feedback mechanism ensures the information stays current. HR and team leads can easily manage suggestions via an admin interface. This way, the platform not only supports employee autonomy but also strengthens their connection to the organization. The result: fewer repetitive questions, increased engagement, and a scalable solution that fits within the existing Slack and SharePoint ecosystem.
